As a community bank, Peoples Bank has been dedicated to transforming its communities and enhancing the lives of its individuals and families for over 120 years. Our charitable giving efforts are separated into two areas, financial contributions and volunteerism, and both are of equal importance and emphasis within our organization.
Not only does Peoples Bank provide donations and sponsorships to local organizations, but its employees donate to local food banks and food pantries through our Jeans for Hunger program, and the Peoples Bank Foundation awards grants to local non-profits and scholarships to area students.
Peoples Bank Foundation
This year, we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Peoples Bank Foundation and are fortunate to have so many great local communities in which we live, work, and play. We are proud to report the Foundation has awarded almost $7 million in grants, scholarships, and donations since 2003.
In an effort to help provide food security and other needs during the holidays, the Peoples Bank Foundation donated $200,000 to more than 125 charitable organizations throughout the Peoples Bank footprint this holiday season.
A few of Peoples Bank Foundation’s recent donations include:
OHIO – The Peoples Bank Foundation donated to the Church of the Nazarene in Cambridge, Ohio. This donation will be used to provide coats, boots, hats, and gloves to children in need.
WEST VIRGINIA – The Peoples Bank Foundation donated to United Way of the River Cities in Huntington, West Virginia. This donation will help power their mission to improve lives in the community. United Way River Cities fights for health, education, and financial stability for residents across six counties in West Virginia and Ohio.
KENTUCKY – The Peoples Bank Foundation donated to God’s Pantry Food Bank. God’s Pantry Food Bank serves 50 counties in Central and Eastern Kentucky in partnership with more than 500 food pantries and meal programs. In 2023, they have distributed 43 million pounds of food.
VIRGINIA – The Peoples Bank Foundation donated to United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg in Richmond, Va. This donation will help uplift the local community, ensuring everyone has the resources and opportunities to thrive.
The Peoples Bank Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) supports local programs that help low to moderate-income individuals and families and supports other charitable organizations to foster a lasting impact. The Foundation centers its contributions and volunteer efforts in the following areas: Community Investment & Economic Development, Youth & Education, Health & Human Services, Arts & Culture, and Environment.
