It is a part of our mission to enhance education and positively shape the youth within our communities. We are proud to steward the Robert E. Evans Education Fund to provide scholarships to young adults seeking a higher education.
The deadline to submit an application for the 2024-2025 school year is March 31.
Robert E. Evans Scholarship
Robert E. Evans began his career with Peoples Bank in 1970 as a trust officer. In 1980 he became the first president and CEO of Peoples Bancorp, Inc., and in 1987, became the sixth president of Peoples Bank. Throughout his 35 years with the company, he inspired those around him to conduct themselves with professionalism and integrity.
Robert Evans was passionate about being a good corporate citizen and a strong believer in the value of higher education. Throughout his long career, he was dedicated to maintaining a culture of continuous learning and giving back to the communities Peoples Bank serves.
We created the Robert E. Evans Education Fund to honor his memory in grateful appreciation of his dedication to persistence, determination and belief in the power of learning.
Scholarship Application Qualifications
Demonstrate a financial need with preference given to students having a higher need. A Student Aid Report (SAR) from FASFA is required.
Have a 3.5 or higher GPA and reside within a Peoples Bank market area (OH, KY, WV, VA, MD or Washington, D.C.).
Be a high school senior in pursuit of a four-year degree in business, education, engineering, liberal arts, math, science or technology.
