The first week of May is National Small Business Week, and Peoples Bank is recognizing all small business owners.

In 2013, Rod and Amy Sayre bought a mom and pop hardware store in St. Marys, West Virginia. St. Marys Hardware began thriving and growing in the small community. By 2018 business was booming and it was time to expand to larger a building. The Sayres met with Savannah Morgan, Vice President Senior Business Banker at Peoples bank in Parkersburg.

Savannah guided them through the entire process of acquiring an SBA loan for their expansion. This was Savannah‘s first SBA loan client at Peoples Bank. “Savannah worked diligently and professionally to help us reach our growing business’ goals,” Rod said, “She is such a great asset to Peoples Bank and the business community.”

In 2019, the Sayre family celebrated the grand opening of their new building. With the expansion, they were able to double the square footage and triple the shelf space, allowing them to offer a greater selection of inventory to the community. They were also able to warehouse lumber and building materials in their original building.

“After the smooth process of the SBA loan, it was an easy decision for us to transfer all of our business and personal insurance needs to Peoples Insurance Agency with the help of Agent Marci Davis.” They also house all of their business and personal accounts in Peoples Bank.

The Sayres are now celebrating 10 years in the hardware business in St. Marys, West Virginia. They owe many thanks to Peoples Bank and their personal and professional team with helping them to become a successful business in West Virginia.
